    Scared for my wallet.

:(, the rebuild of the engine has been on hold for a long while; just because I didn’t have the space for sure thing. Till now; and now internal parts like balance rod so far that I know how’s been started to slowly rust. I’d love to get it’s all going again. But still I probably make space and inspect parts. What would be the best way for rust removal? CLR or vinegar and wired scrubbing?

Wire brush , very fine sandpaper , keep the caustics away . Polish and oil coat it .... Good luck with re-build ..

A green nylon pot scrubber with a bit of oil should have it cleaned up quickly.
It cleans carbon of bores ok.
