Hopefully I'll be getting my new Pro-Wheels pretty soon, but that means I'll have to lace them. I read and re-read Agent's post on wheel lacing, pero tengo una pregunta. Do you have to have a truing stand to get the wheel's true? Would it be cheaper to just have my local shop do it? I'd love to have Agent do it, but I think shipping 2 wheels to Cali would be a little expensive.

A wheel stand makes it a lot easier and quicker, you can make one up though,you're just looking for a set-up that will allow you to spin your wheels thats sturdy.
Really what AS charges is ultra reasonable.
The shipping if you use the USPS may not be as bad as you think,you may want to check it out. Doug

Just got home last night from the desert.

Mikey, Doug's correct. A truing jig can be made from something simple like clamping a straight edge to your forks or swingarm.

Something you might look into...

It's $ 85.00

The cost to have it done is usually $ 50.00 a wheel. So if you do 2 wheels, the stand is completely paid for.

Do some wheels for your friends and make a little cash on the side.

Thanks for the info. I saw the truing stand when I was looking around and I think it looks reasonable. I don't know, I'll see how much money I make this winter..
