    Pulling front sproket

    Are there any tricks to pulling a front sproket?

    One bolt (at least on the R.) Some folks keep it in gear when pulling the bolt, some don't. I've heard you can potentially trash some tranny splines keeping it in gear (don't know if that's true or not.) I have a heavy duty nylon bolt that I put between the sprocket and the case to hold the sprocket in place. I also kept it in gear, but the gears didn't move because of the bolt. Works for me...there are probably easier ways.

    Keep the chain on and have someone hold the rear brake to get the bolt loose. Or the easy way is to use an impact.
