    Functional skidplate

    by hanginon » Sat Mar 17, 2007 7:37 am

I went to install my new aluminum skidplate, per instructions i removed the stock skidplate and wings. but with the new skidplate installed the coolant overflow tank would move qiute a bit. i did not like the idea of the plastic tank vibrating agaist the frame rails and skidplate. so i peeled the rubber out of the oem plate and put on the new one but the tank still moved since the oem plate had side tabs to hold tank in place. so i cut the oem plate to fit inside the framrails keeping the side tabs intact and reinstalling rubber piece on it. then installing the aluminum plate over the modified oem plate. I was even able to utalize the oem oil filter cover plate for a little added protection. sorry if this was already covered on another post i have only read 1k of a possable 5 million topics
