    Compression test

    by motoracer710 » Thu Mar 08, 2007 7:37 am

I would like to perform a compression test on my bike and purchase my own tester. I purchased one popular brand that included a 10mm, 12mm and 14mm spark plug adaptor. Neither worked on my 2006 CRF250R. Best I can tell I need a 11mm adaptor. Does anyone have experience with this and what tester do you recommend. Also, any tips on performing the test would be appreciated too. ;)

Motoracer710 - Long time no talk! I have a compression tester at home. I'll take a look when I get home tonight and let you know tomorrow morning.

I did want to let you know that our first scheduled ride at our Irish Hills track is April 15th. Same story as last year - $30 and proof of health insurance. PM me if you need the details again. Can't wait to ride outdoors!!

    Check your PM's!

F&%$!!! I forgot about you! I totally forgot to look at my compression tester. Sorry!

Maybe this will help. According to NGK, your plug is R0409B-8. Seems it should be 14mm thread diameter. Measure the sparkplug that came out of it to be sure....

Hahaha....no problem. I appreicate the link and I will measure it tonight. I didn't try the 14mm adaptor because the 10mm was to small and 12mm seemed to big. Weird, eh? I'm sure I am not doing something correctly since most testers don't even come with a 11mm adaptor. :?
