    My next set of questions..

    1) The fiber in the R can contained a flat tissue type material when i pulled it out...but it's ripped and damaged in several spots. Was this material wrapped around the mesh tube? Or not? Does it need to be replaced around the tube or can it be on the inner can wall?

    2) I know it says that it takes the gasket material 24 hrs to cure. Would it hurt if I started the exhaust after the hour drying time? Surely a little heat would help the cure...right? I hate to wait another day to start her up.

I just bought a used 05 CRF450R can and the packing material is all gone.

Does anyone have any screen shots repacking the 450R can?

I even did a search in the 450R area and did not see any pictures.

    Thanks,

Are you saying that the can is totally empty?

Mostly empty, there are remnants of black packing material. It needs a repack for sure.

Can someone tell me what to do when I finally opened up my exhaust and it looks like this!?!?

I have been struggling with this for almost 2 hrs now....and it doesn't look like the pictures....I had to take the entire baffled tube out when I pulled the end out and that was after I had to cut through the end cap just to get enough force on it. I'm not even sure I can get the tube back in with out rippping up everything. I would have just bolted the exhaust on as is if I would have known this was going to happen. It's going on a 2006 250X.

Thanks man...but I finally have my new can back together. If I had it to do all over again, it would be a snap...but it did get done thanks the Agent Smiths last minute instructions. My bike now sounds very throaty....thump thump thump :D
