Been doing grips along time and found the best way is to wrap masking tape around a clean bar then use 1 tube of super glue per grip. Squirt the glue in the grip then quickly smash and roll the grip to spread glue equally inside, then slide the grip on quick and position it quick. When it comes time to replace the grips, cut em off and peal the tape and repeat. And did I mention you need to be quick.

I was a first-timer to grip replacement. I cleaned the bars, sprayed hairspray in the grip, then slide on. When I had it positioned the way I wanted, I safety wired it on. No movement, no problems.

Where do I get safety wire? And what do I need to put it on?

If you dont use glue (I use 3M weatherstrip adhesive), your grips may not slip... for a while until you ride in the mud or rain and then you better watch out cause a slippery grip sucks to ride with and its dangerous... Just glue them on and then a couple wire twists to keep water out...

Newest one I've tried is clear spray paint. (Ignore all warning labels advising you not to do this  ). I sprayed some in the grip, some on the bar, and quick slid the grip on. The paint is lubricant enough to slide it on. For the throttle side, put a piece of duct tape over the hole in the throttle barrel and cut it so it is just covering the hole. That way no paint and dirt gets in when your putting the grips on or riding.
