    2013 CRF250L rear spring

    by oil » Wed Mar 11, 2020 2:04 pm

Hello, just managed to get the account registered finally.

I recently bought an used CRF250L. It has a stock rear suspension with stock spring. I would like to replace this spring with something stronger, as I weight ~85 kg + gear (it might be up to 15 kg in winter time). The spring might be old and worn too.

Could anybody recommend a spring to me? Would be better solution instead of just testing. I see plenty on ebay but don't know which one to order.

If someone has ordered a stronger spring for his bike and feels the difference to be just as needed, please send a link, a model, a producer + series of spring.

Hi Oil and welcome to the site.

Do you have the handbook for you bike?

I would recommend adjusting rear sag first to see if the spring issue is just bad adjustment of the spring platform.
If the previous rider was lighter than you the bike we be tail down at the moment.

    Hello!

    Thanks for the reply.

    I have the handbook.

The spring is adjusted to max strength actually, it gave some sitffness but not enough, so nothing to do there.

I adjusted the tension to the max a while ago. It was near max anyway. Slightly changed but not enough.
