So today I pulled my bike out of the garage to notice a big pile of oil on the garage floor, and by the looks of it it's coming out if the rear shock oil canister adjuster screw. When I moved the bike to get a better look fluid stated to spray out of it even more. There is piece of a rubber washer sticking out of what looks to be the adjuster threads. Can I remove this and put a new washer in it or will fluid come flying out? Because it's still leaking.

Okay so I fixed the leaking, I put a new seal on, but I lost about half a cup of oil or so. The suspen feels the same as it did before, but now it makes an ariated noise when I push down on it. How bad is it to run the shock on low oil?

You need to remove the shock (hopefully you have a Factory Honda Service Manual) if not , you will need to Watch these videos (part #1,2,5,6 , dont worry about the Gold Valve parts) , the shock needs to be free of air , and charged with Nitrogen to 145-175 psi , if you dont do this the shock will cavitate (air/oil will churn and make millions of air bubbles)and you will blow seals and ruin the internal parts , because air does not lubricate the parts

There is no skipping this , you will ruin the shock ,it will handle like crap and not be safe to ride , and you WILL have a nasty crash when it blows the internals apart , and cost 5 times what it will to do it correctly now

If you dont feel confident doing it yourself , most suspension shops will do it for about $50

If your in So. Cal. you can take it right to Ken and he can do it (the owner of this site)
