There is no skipping this , you will ruin the shock ,it will handle like crap and not be safe to ride , and you WILL have a nasty crash when it blows the internals apart , and cost 5 times what it will to do it correctly now
If you dont feel confident doing it yourself , most suspension shops will do it for about $50
If your in So. Cal. you can take it right to Ken and he can do it (the owner of this site)
