hi i recently purchased 07 crf250r my sag height is to low checking out spring was set up for a 10stone rider im 13.5stone without riding gear anyway apparently i need rear shock spring 53n and not sure on fork springs yet? any ideas ?

are the springs inter changeable as i was going to buy secondhand from ebay or freinds at practice tracks ie what years 150 250 450 crfs will fir my rear shock and front forks ?

then get my cheapy freind bike mechanic to fit them n service the suspension rather than paying £500 for spring s set up at local shop :)

many thanks fellow crf ers

You should need a 0.45kg fork spring and a 5.5kg shock for your weight , which are stock CRF450 springs , and should be very easy to come by (0.46 and 5.6 will also work)

If none of your friends or no suspension places in your area have anything (they should have take offs from lots of bikes) then yes try EBay

According to Race Techs chart , both Suzuki and Kawasaki (i used your year and 250F and your weight as a guide **your weight in lbs is 189**) will fit as well (they are all the same part numbers) , as long as its not from a KYB suspension and is Showa it should fit

http://racetech.com/ChooseVehicle.aspx

If your a faster track rider you can go all the way up to a 0.49 and 5.7

If your a faster off roader you can still go to a stiffer spring but re-valve it softer (i use 0.52/5.6 ,but i weigh 210 lbs/15 stone so i am a little heavier than you ... and i will be 55 in August)

Also if you ride off-road go 1 size stiffer to account for the added weight of a backpack ,etc , i weigh 235 lbs with all my off-road gear ,210 lbs without riding gear on

Jimdirt, as always (last 2 weeks for me) youre a life saver. I found out the rear spring is a 6.7. Waaaayyyyy to stiff for my weight (180 lbs) ive been looking on eBay and see 50mm 5.5 KG/mm , from a 2003 CRF 450R. Im pretty sure its a go but just wanted to confirm.
