    CRF250X SAG balance

    by markozero » Mon Feb 11, 2013 1:57 pm

    Hi all from Italy! :D
I need to share with others CRF 250 X enthusiast my doubts regarding the correct balance (in terms of SAG) between front forks sag and rear shock sag

I try to get the best balance compromise but I have some difficult to find it.
I usually set the rear sag at 30-35 mm free sag ( I don't follow the Honda manual because with 25 mm the rear shock works too stiff for the hard enduro use) but after that the seat lowering and I have problem to manage the forks because I don't know exactly how much I have to rise up the tube from upper triple clamp to get a good balance. I have tried from 2 to 3 mm but I when I ride I always feel the front wheel "landing"
    Any suggestions? :-)

    thanks

Unless the springs are the right rate for your riding weight (you with all your gear on) it is a little pointless adjusting sag.

Do you have the right springs for you?
What is your all up riding weight?
Type of riding? I am guessing enduro.

You set your static sag at 35mm, what is the rear sag measurement with you on the bike?

It starts,it runs,it gets to where all CRFs can get to without the valve or valve plate dramas

    thanks for the answer!

I try to answer for your right questions but at moment I canot give you the correct measure of rear sag with pilot fully race-dressed because I have the bike without forks :D , I have to sent them to an expert for a new hydraulics setting

    let's get start :

    - the springs are standard (both: rear and front), the italian suspensions expert says I don't need stiff or softer spring for my weight

    - my normal weight is 75 kg so I guess my race weight could be 6-7 kg more

-type raiding: almost enduro hard...in my area we have mostly stone of various kind and dimension :-)

I will give you soon the less measure (rear sag with me) as soon I will get forks back
