    harsh front susp

    by crf45 » Mon Sep 17, 2012 9:29 am

front suspension is very harsh if I land a jump flat or rear wheel first, initial hit is harsh after that its ok, also ok if I land front wheel first. Ive tried different spring rates, oil levels and just installed a race tech gen 2 gold valve kit, still seems harsh, any suggestions (07 crf 450 R)

are you confident you have the correct springs for your RIDING weight?

yes I believe the spring is correct ( I have tried different springs), the valve set up and oil level are from race tech based on my weight and riding style. I forgot to mention that I also changes all fork bushings. fork compression seems good its just that initial hit that is harsh.

If your compression is set soft enough you might try some lighter pressure springs.

what is your weight, spring rate, number of face shims on the low speed compression? did you install just the compression gold valve? pressure springs will help a little but normally they help the high speed plushness more.
