165 is a pretty good weight for the stock suspension. make sure your shock sag is correct. you can also adjust the height of the forks in the triple clamps. also tire pressure and body position in turns matters.

raising the forks in the triple clamp will help transfer more weight to the front wheel and should help keep it planted while turning. again, first set your rear sag correctly test. then if it's still pushing raise the forks and test again.

your owners manual will help you with how to set your sag but essentially it is the correct spring pre-load for your riding weight.

im somewhat of a newbie.. how do you adjust the height of the forks in the triple clamp? any good posts on it?... owners manual says the the top of the fork needs to be flush with the clamp? even if i loosen the clamp and push he fork up.. there is only like 1/8 to 1/4 inch it can move up intill it hits the bottom of the handle bar.

A quarter of an inch can make a fair difference. Do it and see how it feels.

If you haven't done this already there are some good how to vids on you tube for setting sag , a workshop manual for your bike would also be a huge investment for you to , I couldnt live without mine!

Toe mass is spot on...correctly setting race sag is huge in front end handling. keep in mind that correct race sag can not be achieved without the proper spring rates. one common mistake is to set the race sag without the rider in ALL their riding gear. they must be in full riding gear to have the correct weight for setting the race sag.
