Does anyone know if a -02 Öhlins HO294 will fit my -05 CRFX? I read somewhere that it might lower the bike by an inch? I'm going to use it for supermoto so I would have to lower it anyway. Does it matter?

having not tried it i wouldn't be able to say for sure. i know the bearings from different model years on the X are unique. it would be best to ask Öhlins to verify fitment. if you find circle back and let us know what you find.

I got the shock today. According to Öhlins it will fit. It's a little bit lower than the stock one but since I'm going to rebuild it for supermoto purpose that doesn't matter.

I will have my Öhlins front fork next week. I'll get back as soon as I have more info.
I had Öhlins on my Yamaha a couple of years ago and it was like a dream.
