lowering rear shock for shorttrack racing

    by steviecoles28 » Tue Nov 25, 2008 8:15 am

hi there, i have an07 crf450 that i want to use for shorttrack racing. im running r6 forks and yokes up front, so i want to lower the back end to suit.
i have been told the best way to do this is by putting a spacer in the damper unit to stop the shock from topping out.
i was thinking about two inches would be enough.
im not using the bike for tt's, so all the travel thats left will not be used.
does anybody have experience of doing this mod?.
    is it difficult?.
    many thanks.
    steve.

I have done it several times for people, but you cannot do this seance showa uses top out springs in there shocks. you will have to use a lowering link, or send your suspension off to have it done.
