    Fork oil level

    by Racerjustin9 » Thu Nov 06, 2008 5:05 pm

Hi, I am new to the forum, yet not new to riding. I have a 04 250X and am at the stock set up as far as fork and shock springs are concerned. I have my compression dampening on the forks as soft as it can go, yet I would like it a touch softer. Is this something I can accomplish with fork oil level? I appreciate any input. I weigh approx. 140 with gear on and typically ride woods with some whoops mixed in on the faster sections. Thanks in advance!

Oil level can make a small change. You really need to respring as you are too light for the stock springs! (I'm jealous) You could also try 2.5 wt oil, but since you have to take the forks apart, you might as well change the springs at that time. Also do the rear shock as doing the forks only will cause weight transfer to be off balance.
Use only Genuine Interocitor Parts.06 250X Flatlands skid and rad guards. Clarke 3.1 gal tank. Cycra Probends, Rekluse Pro, correct springs. Horn, mirror, brake/tail/license lights and a hanger for the plate. That is all.

Thanks for the info. I am going to talk with someone about doing the entire suspension around Christmas time...that should help a lot more!
