Changed fork oil

Since I had the forks off installing a new triple clamp and stabilizer (Thanks Ken) I decided to change the fork oil. I went with 400cc of 10w and set the comp to 11 turns out and rebound 10 out from full hard. I weigh 190 w/o gear and have been throwing new springs around but for now this works good. On the smaller stuff it feels the same as what I had before but it doesn't feel like it bottoms like before. I went 40ft on a 30 footer and to my suprise it didn't hurt like it use to.

Just thought I'd share for all you other's pushing 200.

jason...good information. fork oil height will affect just the last few inches of travel...so, it will help with bottoming.

glad the triple and stabilizer is working for you.

I just got off the treadmill \:D/ . While I work out, I watch TV (I have a sweet setup in the garage). Today I watched the Honda Fork Maintenance video that Ken sells. The guy is a bit dry, but it is ALL the information you will need to do a complete fork job. I am having my suspension done, but since I have the video... :D Here is the link:

I just did it a few hours ago, pretty easy actually if you follow the service manual instructions. I used a flathead screwdriver with a mark on it to measure it.
