Need suspension settings for a 06 250x

My son is 205 without gear. His bike has stock suspension. We ride in the desert so it needs to be good in the soft stuff, be able to take big woops, and still be able to ride in rocky stuff. Really don't want to change the springs because he will probably move up to a bigger bike in the next couple of years. Any suggestions for settings for the best ride. He rides no MX
