    Tusk Bar Riser Inserts

Just thought I'd chime in on a product I've recently started using. Some of you may already be aware of these, but I just learned about them recently.

I've been wanting to change the cockpit area a bit and raise the bars. However, I didn't want to spend the money for some of the pricier solutions out there and take the chance that I wouldn't like it.

I had a riding buddy recommend the Tusk product ( http://www.rockymountainatv.com/product ... lyId=12976 ) and thought, what the heck, I'll give them a try. I was fine with spending $20 to see what they'd do.

Now, I'm not saying this product is the "be all and end all" of repositioning one's bars, but it is a great alternative to dropping a bunch of money on some solution you may end up hating. Anyway, I got them for my '06 450R stock bars. They have exceeded my expectations in value, quality, and flexibility ("flexibility" in the sense that you have several combinations of the spacers that allow you to raise the bars to different heighths.) Again, not necessarily the best solution for everyone or for those hardcore brand-centric folks, but I think a great solution for most average riders looking to change the cockpit a bit with the least amount of investment.

I certainly don't mean to "advertise" one of Ken's competitors here (Rocky Mountain) however, I didn't see it in Ken's online catalog. Support this site and please try to use Ken's store whenever possible!

I actually ordered a set for my son's CRF80 and wow..what a big improvment for him. This is his first dirt-bike ever...and he never rode bicycles..so my wife and i opted for the 80. This is a very good starter bike but he is a tad too tall..so we order the risers from http://www.pitposse.com/ourabiunbarr.html after seeing them on a bike while riding. I liked them and asked what the site was. Anyways...it's a nice set w/3 sets of bolts. But there bolts would not fit a 07. I called them and they made a note. They never had a issue w/07's. But anyways...found some grade 8 bolts and worked like a charm. Now the bars are where they need to be for my son. I still have a few more items i would like to add..like a jet kit and some small circa guards or similar. AND..a breakaway shifter...it's almost done. You can only bend back the shifter so many times...

I had the Tusk riser kit on my YZ 450F and I now have them on my CRF 450X. I run the full stack because I have long legs and needed the handlebar height when standing on the pegs. At first I was concerned about how structurally rugged they would be, but found that they were great. Save a lot of money by not having to buy bars until I found the right bend. I would recommend them to anyone.
