If you haven't done anything to your bike then you need to do the CCC mods (airbox, jetting, etc.) and do the O-ring mod as well. Chances are that you will not need the Quick Shot. The JD jetting kit will have everything you need to get this done.
Let us know where you are , what altitude, type of riding and your weight, what mods you have already done, what year is your 250X, etc. and we can assist you in getting your bike running as good as it can.

Probably any emissions block off kit will work well for you. It will not give any better performance, though.

Yeah, answer the questions and we can start wtih that.

Yeah that's good. Sorry to hear about your crash.

The X as delivered is very lean. You will need to re-jet asap. If you don't know carburation, then I suggest that you get the JD jetting kit. That will give you everything you will need to get started. It will give you mains, pilot, and instructions on how to open the airbox. It will also give you the O-ring mod and instructions. That will get you started. You should also get a better fuel screw like the CRFSOnly one sold here. Makes adjusting a whole lot easier. You can pull the backfire screen out of your intake and replace your filter with a Twin Air that has a fire retardant layer, although this is not necessary, it is a good precaution. You can open your muffler and do a baffleectomy to improve flow.

If you do these things and then use the Skoot method of blocking you emissions, you will have a huge grin when you ride. The Skoot method uses JB Weld to plug up the smog device so that it still looks legal, but doesn't give you the decel popping anymore.

Ask any questions and have fun!

    Just curious...
Can anyone here tell me what the differences are between the Quickshot, and the Quickshot "2"???

I've already installed the quickshot v1 on my '04 crf250 quite some time ago with great results, so I'm just wondering if the "2" is a noticeable difference over the first one, or if it's just designed for later models than the '04 or something? anyway, answers are appreciated...

great site here too, love the resources and help! I've been a lurker for a bit now, but just decided to join and post after placing an order of goodies at the store here. :D

alright...hesitation in the throttle is at all an time high.

You have a stock 250X.They bog,and are strangled from the factory.
The JD jet kit has an outstanding reputation in off-road motorcycling and about everyone on this board with a 250/450X has one along with the mandatory airbox mod you need to do.
The JD kit is cheaper than the F2 and works great.
Instead, rid yourself of the smog thing like this free, except for some JB weld :
    http://www.crfsonly.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13482url
Read the 250X jetting database. You'll notice a pattern, because it works.Do a search, note how many guys posted what you did and now couldn't be happier.
See, you won't get a lot of responses sometime to a post like this because we all know what works, it's been proven a zillion times over 4 years and it's easy if you can follow simple directions.
A lot of folks don't want to get into 15 posts arguing what they know to be a fact, so they don't post at all if it's another BOG question.
If you want rid of your bog buy the kit, install it as directed and modify the airbox like the directions clearly show you. Honda even thoughtfully molded in lines in the airbox to show you where to cut. No, you won't make the bike easier to drown.
and will the quickshot solve this problem?
    NO
The Boyeson is a good product but will not rid the 250X of it's bog if the jetting is stock, period.
Everything Jaws (Joe) told you is on the money, go fix your bike. You'll be meeting the rest of it. :D Doug
