    Twenty20 Helmet Cam...

    by nedirtbikr » Tue Mar 27, 2007 9:42 am

If anyone is considering a helmet cam, I thought I'd chime in. I have had it on several rides now and would give the product a "thumbs up." I purchased the cam through CRFsOnly.

    Positive things:
    - Sales and Tech support from CRFs and Twenty20 has been exemplary.
    - Product is easy to use and very stable.
    - Can use included velcro to build a house (This stuff sticks!!!)
    - One 9V battery lasts forever (well, almost :D )
    - Great image and sound quality.

Negative things (only one and it's pretty minor):
    - Battery case has an on/off slider switch that protrudes from the case a bit. I have had several occasions where this on/off switch was accidentally "bumped" to the off position in my pack, while riding (missing out on video.) I have since wrote to Twenty20 suggesting, if possible, to redesign the on/off button so that it is recessed a bit in the case. In the meantime, I used my Dremel to grind down the little switch button so that it is flush with the case. Aside from a tiny little abrasion I put in the battery case (due to the Dremel getting away from me a bit,) the battery case looks factory and I haven't had a problem with "bump" shutoffs since.

Great product...great support. I recommend considering it if you're in the market for a helmet cam.

I went to the Twenty20 web sight to see for my self.
Bar-none one of the best and most informative web sights ever.
my current helmet cam is an HP307 taped to my visor.
    can't wait to replace it.
    thx for the post.

What type of recorder are you using? I was given a twenty20 helmet cam but my camcorder is incompatable. I saw on their site a list of recorders but am unsure of which one to get.

get the adapter for the bike,it looks exactly the same as the switch one but goes to the batter without witch.only drawback is its connected to the bike and if ya crash it could tear it off.

i may have a spare.let me look, ill pm ya if i find it.

I'm using a Sony PC-1000 that I already had. Load it in a padded fanny pack (I keep the pack in front of me) and a LANC and I'm set. Works for me.

this might be a stupid question...does it just plug into the recorder and you hit the button on the camera and it starts to record?
