Should I Rekluse for Kennedy Meadows?

Ok, Kennedy Meadows is probably the next time I'll get to go riding (hope I make it).

Should I install the Rekluse and run it there for the first time or stick with what I have?

not a lot of clutch work on the blue trails. i haven't, and won't do the black trails, but we all know that black and clutch are synonymus. even though i voted no Rekluse, i don't think the rekluse would bother you up there, first time out. if you do it, be sure your bugs are worked out.

With my yes vote, I must say that there shoould be plenty of folks to assist with any problems.

I will Hot Cam mine before, but will test before I go.

Feel a little chicken though, hate to have problems on a multi-day trip.

Smash I have been contemplating the exact same thing, I am a little nervous to do it one because I am not use to riding with one and two because I will have no time to test it before going. I am voting no. I am sure I would be comfortable on it in no time but I would hate to have a mechanical problem and ruin that trip. Crap, I still might do it.

Being an east coaster... what type of riding is this? If it is moto type, keep your clutch. Tight riding - put in your kluse. "Normal" trail riding - put in your kluse and you can get used to it.

I have refrained from voting because I don't know what type of riding KM is.

I'll do it if you do it! LOL.

I see the voting is tied..... Hmm. I am a little worried about how crazy the trails will be and my comfort level with the bike now, but everyone swears by these things.....

    Smash

i've got a Tow Buddy on board.

but really, these trails don't have any hill climbing like we get everywhere else, at least the blue trails don't, i cannot attest to the black trails that you and RR will do.
DD is only doing the pink trails, and then starting his cooking early, that'll be great to have Mom along.

    RR and Smash,
There is no downside. Do it and enjoy never stalling because you locked the rear wheel, better clutch control on the technical stuff, etc. After all of the testimonials on here over the last year +, do you really still have any doubts?

My final point ... if you wait too long, you void your money back return option ... isn't it 30 days? Why not try it out before that happens?

On another note, is anyone staying Monday? I can't get out of previous family commitments on Sunday, but might make the trek for a day trip on Monday if some of you are sticking around.

Scratch the last paragraph ... I had brain fade and was thinking KM was this weekend instead of the next. Conflict resolved!

I got a deal, so I don't think the 30 day warranty is still there, and it's been a month or two since I bought it, lol. I'll probably do it though.

A friend bought one and the perch adjuster, decided against it and sold it. Although with all your other sponsors I'm sure you could beat my deal by going direct to Rekluse.

I am going to get one, I was holding back on getting a Rekluse and suspension just in case the 07 had some changed feature I couldn't live without. Being that it is basically the same, my current X is going to get the full treatment. I just don't think I will have the time to get the Rekluse in there by the KM trip. I will have my suspension done which I am really looking forward to.

I keep considering removing my perch adjuster and the clutch lever entirely and going with the rear hand brake. The Rekluse review here is why I orginally ordered the perch adjuster, but I don't use it to make frequent adjustments and the only time I really use the clutch lever is to find neutral.

Just hate to throw more money at it frankly.

Best mod I did Rob. There isn't anything else I did on the bike that allowed me to ride faster and kept the bike more predictable. After that it was the Scotts Dampner.

What's the verdict Smash? Rekluse or no Rekluse?
