Larger rear sprocket- chain guide binding

    by PW80Dad » Thu Jul 04, 2019 11:40 am

I put a 54t (might be a 53 cant remember right now) on the rear and now the lower rear sprocket chain guide is binding a little

It doesn’t appear to have any adjustment but I suspect the geometry has changed enough to cause the bind. It occurs right as the chain exits closest to the sprocket

Ami I being anal or should I do something? I’ve ridden it around the yard and it hasn’t torn itself apart yet lol. (It’s a tractor now with the 12t in front )

    Appreciate the input

I am assuming you replaced the chain with a longer one and have the wheel moved back ???

Yes new longer chain. I guess I could run the chain a little tight to see if that helps

With the 53 or 54 you want the wheel as far back as you can get it to keep it out of the guide , but , it still should not physically harm anything as is .............
