2005 X.
new clutch and cable I put in last week. For the life of me the cable keeps needing adjustment about every five minutes of riding.
I always have to turn in the adjustment about a half turn.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Correct me if I am wrong, but you should never have to touch the adjust every five minutes of riding?????

From what you describe you have either purchased a really poor quality cable that is stretching badly and or poor quality clutch assy. that is eating up the clutch disc material. There can be a little, very little initial wearing in on the new clutch plates and a slight amount of stretch in a new cable. But it should be very, very little.
Not much else can be going on to have the results you are describing.
