I'm looking at the Shorai LFX09L2-BS12 battery, but there's two options to choose from. What are people going with? I've got a 09 450x with only the air box mod, high flow air filter, JD kit and a Q4 Muffler. No engine mods.

Thanks, James

That is the exact battery I have in my 450X. It is 5 years old and going strong. Expensive but I never have to put a charger on it even if the bike sits of 6+ months.

Same exact one I have in my 06 , been in there since 2011 ..... 8 years and still starts right up after sitting all winter , each winter , I did not even ride the bike in 2017 due to health issues and when I finally did , it cranked right over ..... can't ask for more ...... Though , if/when this one goes , I will get the next size up , the difference is I believe 12 amp hours instead of 9 and if I remember right , 150 CCa instead of 135 ... ;)

Neil & Jim,
This is interesting you get such good life as lithium batteries like to be charged to a higher voltage and when full to stop charging. That is why you should use a charger meant for lithium batteries.

I wonder if that is why normal batteries don’t last in a CRF as the charging system puts out a higher voltage.
What sort of charging voltage do you get at the battery?

I believe around 13.5v to 14.5v depending on the state of depletion at the time , it also makes a difference when taking a reading whether you are taking it right after starting , or after its been running for a bit , as the voltage is always peaked higher right after start up due to the amp draw from starting ... ;) 8-[
