They look kind of cool and its a good idea, but it's still a tent.

If you are a desert camper, the tent part is quite noisy in the wind. And wind and desert are synonomous.

    Kennedy Meadows (forest), nice.

Very roomy inside. Not as insulated as a hardside. Has to be set up.

if you like Tent trailers then this is the one for you!

For 12k I would rather pick up a motorhome and a trailer!

    10k for 1988 28' bounder and $1500 for a brand new 5'X10' trailer Rated for 3500lbs.

A little harder to manuver but a whole lot more comfortable with Generator TV, dvd and hot water heater for those long hot showers! 8) 8) 8)

I think your right about a motorhome over a trailer. After reading your post I googled 1998 Fleetwood and found a affordable one here.

Ive seen them up here and considered getting one because of price..Im glad I held out for a TH...Im thinkin soft walls wont cut it and it really wouldnt be any different than a tent. Id piss outside with either one...

they do come with propane heaters...i haven't stayed in one but my inlaws have one and say they stay warm...oh the coolest part about them is the toilet is in the shower...so you can do the 3-S's at the same time...(talk about time saver)
