I've never been to the Husky monument either- Does anyone the story or history behind it?

I found a few details in this thread about the Husky: Ignore all the goofy looking orange bikes...

nminus1, Great story about the Husky monument. I've always wondered who's bike it was and how and why it was there. Thanks for the great link. Ernie

In 1987, Dave Jerickson passed on to his next adventure. Family and friends, knowing how much he enjoyed riding the Four Corners area, buried his 390 Husky and scattered his ashes to the four winds and blue skies of the desert.

Since then, other riders have asked their friends to do the same for them. This is a very special place - much more than a lonely Husqvarna standing in the desert. It's a place that riders can go to and reflect, and maybe just think about the things that really count.

It's like a trip to Mecca for me.

    Without all the Shiite...

P.S. Do we have permission to scatter your ashes and bury your bike there when the time comes?
