    Oils & Changing

    by Crazy_Steve » Sun Dec 31, 2006 11:21 am

How dark do you guys usually let your oil get?

    Also any recommended oils?

    Tranny & engine?

Anyone use the same oil for each?

    Anyone overfill the tranny side?
    he back.

This item has been done to death. If you do a search you will get plenty of answers.

In general, to be safest, use what Honda recommends. Having said that, you will find almost any other quality oil has been used. Stay away from oils that say energy saving for either side. A lot of us use the same oil in both sides. Be sure to run a full quart in the tranny side.

As far as changing intervals... this is something that most of us are anal about. We run from every ride to about every 3rd ride. Changing the filter either every time or every other time. There are exceptions, but this is the general rule.

I am sure you will be answered here with what others use, etc. It's a very personal thing.

You should, too, and if not ,don't say you weren't warned.
The rest of it is all personal, just like Jaws said.
Any premium, designed for motorcycles oils will work fine.
No moly in the clutch side, just like your manual says, and no "energy conserving" oil anywhere, just like your manual says too. Doug
