To Slime or not to Slime... that is the question.

Vote and submit your notes on what and how much you use.

I think the first time I ever even heard of it was AS's thread on the joy of Dunlop 939 tire changes.

Sounds like it helps keep the tube from binding perhaps?

Doesn't keep it from binding. It's actually a liquid that keeps rotating in your tubes and fills up and holes.

I used to do some work with them. It's a pretty cool story the guy invented it with his wife in his bathtub. It contains some kind of glycol that keeps it from hardening, which is the same stuff used in ice cream to keep it from freezing. They are located in Grover Beach and the owner is a big time surfer. Nice people, nice company. And just a little trivia, they actually own a trademark on that green color.

For tubes make sure you use the formula with out the black specs in it (that's for tubeless aplications).

It's better to put slime in before you get a puncture as it will try to seal the puncture with minimal tire pressure loss. I run slime and only had one flat when I ran over a cactus, and it only went flat in the garage, it was good for the rest of the trail ride.

    Good stuff, Smash.

Especially the info on the black-specs (looks like liquid kiwi).

There's lots of thorns here in south Texas. I wouldn't ride without it. I've only had one flat in two years.

Ive never had A flat yet!! on my 450x with slime.

But word of advice:Do NOT use more than 8oz,s it caused me havic with bad pressure readings due to oozing out the valve stem and clogging!...yep I used the whole bottle per tire. (BIG BOTTLE) :?

    SLICK...

I use True Goo, one bottle in each tire.... 8 OZ bottle.

Tru Goo is chemical based not lint based like the green slime.

This product is a step ahead of all the others....Seriously.
