    Vapor vs Lynx?

    by rider_34 » Wed Dec 27, 2006 2:44 pm

Looking to buy one or the other Vapor or Lynx. Suggestions? Do I need to buy the dashboard protetor to keep these things in place?

The temp sensor for the water temp goes inline in the radiator hose, the air tem sensor is an ambient reading.

I would recommend the vapor, but mostly because that is what I have. The protector is worth the money in my opinion. It keeps the computer mounted and I don't think it would be easy to break either.

I'd suggest the billet protector for mounting. (Mine's on the way -- Vapor has arrived).

I spend some time installing all the wiring last night and after looking at the supplied plastic mounting hardware, the billet protector is the way to go for sure. Besides, I can't see a good place to mount the unit with the supplied plastic parts that would afford any protection in a wreck.

Do a search to see just how neatly the billet protector bolts up and works.

    Good luck!

PS - The Vapor has more functions (temp control), but he Lynx has features that may be desirable for racing, particularly HS and such.
