    Bike Overhaul/Teardown

    by Smash » Tue Dec 26, 2006 6:05 pm

    Hey All,

Well I'm hitting the sand again with the bike this weekend and after that it'll be time to start riding like crazy again for me as I'm feeling almost 100% again (had the flu for what seemed like forever).

So I'm putting together a list of things I think I should check... The bike has somewhere in the 3,000 mile range.

I'll obviously be tightening everything I can see, but in addition I'll be performing the following steps....

-All controls, new cables and lube clean inspect all areas (DD already pointed me to the clutch cable wear spot).

    -Hot Start plunger lube

    -New Spark Plug

    -Change Coolant, Oils

    -Replace Brake Fluids

    -Check clutch for wear

    -New wheel bearings

    -True wheels

    -New swingarm shock linkage bearings

    -Lube steering stem bearings

-Clean fuel bowl, jets and carb.

    -Check valve clearance

    -New Plastics and graphics.

    -New Grips

Anything I'm missing that should be inspected/replaced? Basically time to tighten the bike back up make sure everything is safe and get it feeling new again and hopefully end up with a clutch feel that's not so tough.

Could be that the AZT cocktail has hammered his T-Cell count-Being in the Porn Industry takes a toll on you...or it could just be pneumonia.

    Here you go Dev.

A friends Dad asked me recently if I ride it, or just go out and drag it on it's side all day.

It's a dirtbike, but it needs to be freshened up as it gets wrecked, a lot.

Oh and AS, no AZT for me. All good! Actually had the Flu last year and went into the Dr., the only thing she recommended was that I get an HIV test. Talk about a scary week waiting for that to come back.

Will do, I'm sure they have some abuse, I don't clean them out after I'm done. It just gets the hose to wash the sand off.

That would be nice.... Maybe when this one is paid off. Actually I want the new R once it's fuel injected. That'll be the new bike.
