I'm heading down to Baja for four days in April with about ten friends. A few of the guys have gone on the same tour the last few years and say it is nothing short of unbelievable. Having this to look forward to should help mitigate some of the pressure to turn numbers in Q1...
Description of tour:

Looks nice. Too bad you can't take you own bike. Which ride are you doing?

Going on the four day Baja Experience, but modified for our group, with more single track.
I'll be taking my X. Notice all my buddies' Xs in the pictures I posted...you can definitely take your own bike.

Ditto, besides getting lost is half the fun.

Ditto with tkrrox but I am finally disagreeing with Rob on something
RR, I turned down a trip this month on the 26th-28th because I had already made some plans with another friend for the high dez. I think I read somewhere that you are headed south those dates? You riding out of Santa Veronica again (as is my group)?

No, we are going to El Golfo, Mexico 26th-30th. It is a massive system of dunes and beach so we will have paddles the whole trip. I can't friggin wait!!!!!

Took a peek on Google Maps since I have never been there ... should be great. Didn't see much in the way of facilities ... is this a campground, small town or just dry camping on the coast? I am guessing you are camping and riding the same area the whole time due to the paddle?
Tell me more, tell me more (we'll see how good you really are on the Neil lyrics)

It'll end up costing us a little shy of 1,700 each. I think it's worth it for three days and not having to worry about anything other than showing up and riding. Apparently the host changes it up a little each year. Who knows--maybe next time without a guide...we'll see. At any rate, I'm excited to go...

As far as the NY lyrics my Tired Eyes are a little sore this morning. We will be camping on the beach with our RV's as "the motel of lost companions with heated pool and bar" is all booked up. We may have to "burn our credit cards for fuel" to get there.
El Golfo is a small fishing village about 60 miles south of the San Louis border on the Sea of Cortez. There is about 100 miles of uncrowded dunes and miles and miles of beach. Last year when we went we rode about 100 miles to Rocky Point(Puerto Penasco) and spent the night and rode back to El Golfo the next day which made a fun little trip with in a trip. Rocky point is known as the poor mans Cabo.

OK, good. Their site made it sound like you have to ride a Yamaha that they provide. I looked but didn't see any reference to bringing your own machine and the related pricing.

"Cortez, Cortez what a killer."

That's probably because the locals "got twenty five rifles just to keep the population down" and ensure they don't get "ten million dune buggies comin' down the mountains."

sounds like "another delivery of chemicals and sacred roots" to me. So this riding buddy, "well tell me more, tell me more, tell me more I mean was he a heavy doper or was he just a loser? He was a friend of yours."

OK, I've learned my lesson, "but please take my advice open up the tired eyes."
