Got me a new bike today!!!!!!

    by Smash » Sun Dec 17, 2006 10:47 pm

Riding around with all my friends kids on the 450 wasn't as fun as it could be. So I had to drop the CCs down a few so I could hang out with em. Now I'll fit right in with those little speed demons. Just went and rode it today and it's a blast. Nice thumper exhaust and runs fairly well. JD doesn't make a jet kit for it so I'll have to jet it myself... Oh, no radiators so no roosters for me. These things are fun.

Not trying to jinx you, but......
A few of my mates have bought their kids those
China knock off bikes thinking they`re not racing,
just riding for fun. Fair dinkum, the amount of time
we spend each ride working on them to get/keep
them running lets you see why the Jap brands charge what they do for the bikes, although since the influx into Australia of these China bikes, it has really bought down the price of the Jap fun bikes, so with 3 kids thats a good thing. By the look of these China bikes they could be so much better quite easily, they just seem to cut corners on dumb stuff to save those few extra $$$$. In saying all that, have a blast at the end of the day if it blows up after a short time they`re that cheap you still got your moneys worth, so have a blast.

    Looks like fun Smash !
I'm aware of all the Chinese stories out there, some very true I imagine, but from those pics anyhow they look pretty well screwed together.
Let us know how they do for you. Doug

    125CC. 8 HP.

Yup, I've heard about bikes falling apart. And they aren't built like a CRF450. But these seemed better built than most. I wasn't about ready to drop thousands of dollars on a pitbike. Made no sense to me. Plus all the kids are riding the same type quads and bikes and they run those all weekend long on the revlimiter. Other than broken keys and broken plastics, we've only had to adjust the valves on them once. I'll let you know how it goes.

    Smash,

Are they manual, automatic or semi-automatic transmissions? I am looking for one, but really want fully automatic.

Did you get them local? That building in the background looks like the typical High Desert abandoned strip-mall-turned-swap-meet type....

Yup, that's actually a friends shop they are in front of. But picked them up on Hesperia Rd at a shop right next to the bridge on Main street in Hesperia. His shop is across from the G-Spot, so your description isn't far off.
