Install your Hot Cam and then we can have a conversation built on actual experience and facts, not just theory and opinions.
Oh, and have a nice day.

I second that 100%,and couldn't be more bored with this whole thing.
Actually, .025 clearance would have resulted in higher compression

    That's wrong.
It's pretty funny, two guys who have done the job trying to help someone who has not and getting all this crap.
I'm not going to discuss it further, like I said,we've done the job.
Knock yourselves out, and don't look for any more input from me-or I suspect SIV- on the subject. Doug

Sorry man, It's just so hard too have a battle of wits with an unarmed man. 8)

But don't worry to much. I have a feeling this isn't the end of it.

Note to self: Don't mispell "battle" and "too" when you're calling out someone for being stupid...

That was supposed to be a message to me! That wasn't meant for everyone to read.

    SIV / Doug
I for one would like to say thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with The Forum. Your previous issues are well documented and clearly your approach to the decompressor clearance fixed the issues - That's good enough for me.
I will be comparing Stock v Stage 1 v Stage 2 in the coming weeks and I will post my results..
(OK Doug, you got me, I couldn't help myself :))

No matter which one you chose, you will be happy with the result. It just depends on the type of riding you do most. Ken put a Hot Cam in the internet project bike. That's a good enough recommendation for me.

To attempt to stay on topic here, if you go back several months, you can find the threads where Doug and I started playing around with Cams. In my bikes, I've had just about every cam out there. Depending on what you want to do, they are all very good for their respective purposes. In short, the Stage 1 is great for tight twisties. The stage 2 is good for higher rpm work such as open desert. That's not to say they are bad for other types of riding. I've also had a Pro Circuit cam in both bikes as well as moving the R cam to the X. On the cheap, if you can get an R cam, it's a good choice. On the opposite end, the PC cam head modifications and HC piston will rip your arms out. Unfortunately, I went through 2 top ends on that bike....

So for an all around bike track, desert etc... Would you recommend the R cam over the others or? I definately don't want that Pro Circuit setup you had, a little much for me.

For an all around bike, yeah it's a good choice. But so is the Stage 2 cam. In fact, I think I'd lean that way just for the added mid range.
