Sure! As long as your carb has some goodies in it. Like a JD Red needle or quickshot 3.

Those parts may "accidentally" get mixed up with my stock parts ;)

I got the engine back together this weekend. Everything went exceptionally smooth. Man is shimming valves SO much easier on a work bench!

I should be able to get enough of it put back together tonight to turn it over for a compression test. Very excited to ride this bike now :)

Oh yeah, MX_RACER, you're carb components should be safe. I have my own now ;)

    That's more like it! 8)

She's full of oil and ready for the rest of the pieces to be put back together. Should be able to fire it up this week.

Just to follow up. The rebuild went great and is awesome! The only disappointment I had was the jetting being off. It's close but at 3000' the slow circuit was off. Not sure if it's rich or lean but I think it's lean. 45 pilot.

45 pilot is fine for 3000 ft , i run 45/160 ,FS at 1 1/2 , 65 leak jet , i ride from 2000 - 8000 , and do not even have to touch the fuel screw , that is with the stock muffler , or when i use the R muffler with a PMB insert

I'm running a stage 2 hotcam, opened top airbox, slip on pipe, J/D Red needle and a quickshot 3.

Maybe your bike is a bit different but mid throttle and up mine ran amazing. Slow technical trials type ride at 0 to 1/4 throttle absolutely sucked.

I tried turning the fuel screw both ways. Neither way was great to be honest. I tried it in, out, dialing on the QS3 nothing made it run right.

I read through the jetting database and there were a lot of people with tuned bikes running a 48 pilot. Same amount seemed to be running a 42 and the stock 45 which is what I'm running.

I don't know. I miss my power commander already :-(

I have a HotCams Stage 1 and a Quickshot 1 , my personal advice (others may not agree but , oh well) , is to get rid of that Quickshot 3 and try to find a Quickshot 1 , i am betting your issues are lying with that , just because its trick does not always mean its better

I would take a small O-Ring and put it on the AP pump spring/linkage check your AP squirt and make sure it just misses the slide , and get a QS 1 or 2 OR go back to the OEM pump cover (just dont use the aftermarket ones with the Adjustable Leak Jet , i know more than a few people with the same issues because of them, they went back to the stock cover and no more issues) with a #65 leak jet and i bet your issues will go away

I have a friend with a 11 KTM 450SXF (carb model) and he had the same issues , i told him to take off the QS3 and go back to the stock cover , his bike runs great now , and that is all that was changed

Removing the QS3 and going back to the stock AP cover will not cost you anything except some time , and i think it will solve your issue , if not all it cost you was a few minutes of your time to find out

Looking good!!! I personally have nothing but good things to say about my QS3.
I ride at much lower elevations than you but not sure how much that matters.

Jim Dirt nailed it. Adjust your pump squirt so it misses the slide and it should clear up your problem. Their are several threads on how to do it on this and the other 4t forum.
