That's why I went ahead and got the Cummins Diesel while I am still working. Hopefully the truck and trailer will be paid off by retirement if I don't get layed (laid) off.

Fleetwood makes some light toy haulers that look pretty decent.

I've never seen one in person but the pictures look pretty good. Fleetwood's high end Class A RVs are excellent. If they actually manufacture these, I'd expect them to be excellent as well.

I would agree with most of the previous posts, we had a chev 2500hd gas motor and bought a 26 foot WW, Truck was just not up to it and we got pulled over for doing 22 MPH on the 14 freeway, The pedal was on the floor and the officer let us away with a warning, next week we went out and got a ford superduty diesel and we can not do 65 plus on the same freeway.
I now wish we had of got a slightly bigger toy hauler.
As for which trailer to buy we have not had a single problem with our warrior even though we use it 20 plus times per year, it is an 07 model purchased in December 2005 from Giant RV.
IMO build quality from WW leaves everything else behind.

We have a Weekend Warrior LE3105 and love it. This is our second Weekend Warrior and have had no issues with either of them. My Fifth wheel has flipped Axles and recently purchased larger rims and tires to further allow the unit to travel level.

I wish that the increased rim and tire size was an option from the factory - it might be now...

As for resale value - which has not been discussed - we sold our last one for what we paid for it after three years.

    Cheers,

    30' Rage'n fifth-wheel and Ford PSD.

I really like the trailer- a huge upgrade from my 9.5' Lance camper! Seems to be very good quality, has plenty of room with three queen size beds, lots of water and a nice 4kw generator- great for desert camping. Ideally it would be nice to have the seperate bike storage / garage area, but I really did not want THAT big of a trailer.

Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a 29' - 31' motorhome though- I'd lose a little on space and water capacity, but I think I would use a motorhome more for trips other than to the desert- like going to the beach for a one-niter or taking it to the Supercross for tail-gating.

Bottom line is that there is no perfect solution for EVERY situation!

yah i have been pondering toys haulers/motorhomes also i had a 98 winny 27' my grandma left my brother and i and we decided to sell so both families could use the money for a down...

the motorhome was cool cause it was self contained and you could choose your options for tow ie bikes, boats, but the alignments, tire rotations, and misc. added up (also rats liked climbing in the motor compartment for some reason) and it was actually really cramped compared to say a 23' hauler

so i have been thinking haulers...but then you have excessive wear to your daily driver and if you add the cost of both your chillin' at 60+
and if i want to go to the river or lake how do i get the boat there...

i think it is like V5 say...compromise (i hate that word!)
    ...i hit stuff...
    rocks,trees,cactus...i don't play favorites

I would give a lot of credence to these guys that are telling us they have had WW's and are still very happy with their purchases. I can't say the same about my '02 Wilderness.

We have a 2006 26' WW FB no problems in two years. When we got it we pulled it with a E350 4x4 v10 van it did ok till we went to kennedy meadows 6 MPH up the grade and the trans overheated so we got a supper duty power stroke and it pulls and stops MUCH better.

We rented mohos for years but we go out much more often now so it justified the purchase of the toy hauler we like it more then the mohos it hold more water (fresh, black and gray) it's roomer inside, it' cheaper to purchase, repair and insure.

If you get a toy hauler you need a truck that can pull it safely a 1/2 ton will work with a supperlite but you feel much better have more power and most of all more stoping power.
