Replacing the flywheel and stator did the trick. I got it running again!!!!! The carb sat for a while with a little bit of fuel in it so I am having to do some work there but I was able to get it put back together and it ran great. Thanks for all the help. @jimdirt, we'll have to meet up sometime if I ever head out Ontario way to get some riding in.

No problem , that is what this place is for ..... Yea , I am usually out at Clay Peak , pretty much every weekend if I can (we park way up on top up past the big middle parking area at the very top of the road in the upper parking area to the right) , I was there Fri, Sat , Sun of this last week , it usually depends on if my friend has a day off during the week , then we usually go then as well , as soon as he has a day off he emails me and says he is riding , I have been riding my 450X there the last weekend , but hopefully I get my R back together before this next weekend ... if not , I will ride the X again .... it does fine on the GP track ...and the button is nice , I just have my 19" rear on it and it does fine on a track , a little heavy , but for that track it does not matter , no jumps , and tons of sand ...

Anyway , glad you got it running .... did you put the weight back on ?? , or just install a stock flywheel ??

I ordered a spare flywheel on ebay before I had pulled the one with the trashed weight, mostly because I didn't know the condition of the original flywheel. Surprisingly, the one I ordered from ebay came with a weight already installed! I didn't realize when I ordered it but I lucked out (maybe). I may regret this later, but after checking the bolts connecting the weight to the flywheel I went ahead and installed it. Do you run a weighted flywheel?

Also, the original is still in good condition. Let me know if you know of anyone looking for an OEM flywheel. I'll give them a deal.
