Any riding in Bakersfield and this includes off Commanche is a waste of gas, tire, and time. Ballinger Canyon is awesome if you know which trails to hit, i've been there 3 times now and put in 60 miles a day of single track. (also not a bad spot on holidays) I can just never get enough of the desert though.

    Honolulu Hills is CRAP!
Ballinger is great for a day trip, or a light camp weekend. Play it out in one day if you ride too fast and too long. Good views, and decent singles, a couple of nice washes, and nice camp/staging.

How about we hit up some jumps out at James Rd. Or we can go to Porterville?

The pit, James Rd. and Oildale i thought were all the same place. And you guys quit bagging on my stompin grounds. I can go there straight from my garage. That place is decent for what we have left in bakersfield itself. It is better than leaving the bike parked in the garage. Its not as good as any svra but it is a place to ride. I do prefer driving up to gorman when the LPNF is open, or out to the Dez. I also like to go up to Keysville by the lake isabella dam. There is a pretty good trail that goes up to Evans flat off of Rancheria Rd. about 10 miles south of Shirley Meadows. Actually there is a ton of riding all throughout the Alta Sierra Mtns. I have only been there a few times but it was a blast. There is a little too much snow up there for now. Well when i get back into town, which might be a few months i will definately have to hit some of you guys up to do some riding. Oh by the way i am now in La Junta Colorado. The Railroad sucks, well at least BNSF does. ~ Scott

Delian, low life, white trash p.o.s if I ever catch someone stealing stuff from the back of someones truck i'll run them over

Good reason not to stage in Oildale period.

Sorry Skoot, about calling The Pit, the pits. i should have said, the whole of Bako is the pits.

There is a place below Hume Lake called Millwood OHV area. It's off HWY 180 just above where it crosses HWY245. Pretty nice little staging area but it's closed this time of year due to snow. There is also Miami Creek OHV area above Oakhurst,,,challenging trails. Good to hear from people in the area, I live in Clovis.
