You see, I was leaving for a 5-day snowmobiling trip that evening. I had to make sure we didn't go more than 1 day in the trial, so I volunteered to be the lead juror thinking I could push it along if necessary. The trial was fast and we went into deliberations by lunchtime. I thought "sweet, we're outta here!" Not so.
We finally "convinced" the last juror in the room that this guy was guilty at like 10 minutes to 5.
After being in that situation and basically "persuading" this lady into a guilty verdict, I never want to be on the wrong side of that table ever! What a crock. I was pretty much convinced this guy was guilty, but this lady was convinced she wasn't sure "and didn't know". She was slightly bully'ed by a "few" people who may have had the same intentions as me. This case was based on ALL circumstantial evidence and could have went either way depending on who had the best arguement skills in the jury room.....
The snowmobile riding was great....
