Welcome to the site !!
Just to ease your mind , we don't "bash" here , every question is replied to in a respectful and hopefully helpful manor , unlike some "other" forums , this is a family friendly and respectful site dedicated to help or recieve help , we are all just motorcycle enthusiast and nothing more , we do not get political , or disrespectful , and don't have or push a "agenda" , and we hope to keep it that way
With that said ........ The factory (not the dealer) puts in the oil and fires the engine to make sure everything works , then shuts it down and ships it off , then it sits at the dealer till someone buys it , As the engine is first run and as the engine is breaking in , it will deposit materials till things seat and become "worn in" , until then , you want to keep the engine as debris free as possible , as the initial break in is critical (you want to keep the engine clean throughout its life as well) , so they recommend changing the oil at lesser intervals during initial break in times , then after it has broken in , and oil consumption lessens the interval increases and you then go by the "regular" maintenance schedule (you can vary the interval to your specific usage and conditions) .. but the first few frequent oil changes are critical and necessary ........
Hope that helped !!
