Hey guys,

I saw a review on this site, and have seen a couple of other places review the Billy Who Manfunnel. Looks like it would really be great for changing the transmission oil on my 2009 CRF250X. Do they still make this, or a similar product? I tried googling it and most places show it as discontinued. Their website is gone also.

I have seen some people say they couldnt get it to work right or didnt like it also. If you are one of those people and have one for the CRF250X, I would love to take it off your hands and give it a shot myself. I saw a video from Rocky Mountain on oil changing and he used one and seemed to like it a lot. Looked pretty easy to use.

So in the end, do they still make these? If not is there a similar product out there? If not, does anyone have any tricks for not getting tranny oil all over the place and in your skid plate?

I have a smaller funnel that I heated with a heat gun and formed to get in close and avoid spillage. Cut off plastic water bottles make into great custom funnels also.

I use a old Fork Guard , it fits real nice with just minimal trimming , gets the oil out past the frame , and you can undo and install the drain bolt with it sitting there

Good tips! Appreciate the feedback. From what I am gathering, no one knows where you can get one of those funnels.... Sucks... I hate to see products from a small company, designed to make life easier, go away because there arent enough people out there to support them staying in business.

I would gladly pay $15-20 for something that is gonna last and make my life easier several times a year. It's a shame really...

Looks like I am going to have to go with one of these homemade solutions. I have heard the water bottle one before, never heard the fork guard one, will have to see what I can come up with...

Yea it sucks they went out of business , i just found 1 on eBay , but its for a YZ450/250

I don't understand why they quit production , they were really popular , and you could find them at every motorcycle online store , then , they just became "unavailable"

Ya I checked ebay too... I found the same one for a Yamaha. I did find one of the Billy Who Factory Fill bottles. I picked that up, but its not nearly as innovative or helpful... I really dont get why Honda, who is known for doing things the right way, wouldnt have the trans fluid drain under like the engine oil. Oh well...

The fork guard idea got me thinking. Im wondering if I could rig something up with one of those yellow plastic corn on the cob trays that they sell... May have to give that some thought...

If you have a heat gun or a propane torch , i am sure you can get it to bend/shape to your needs , thats kind of what i did with the fork guard

Billy Who Manfunnel - the pictures look like a device to let a lady go into a bottle whilst sitting in the truck. Sure the hospital had something similar too.

Dont have any old fork guards just laying around.... But the corn on the cob dish is the same basic size, I might be able to do something with that...

What i would do is trim it so it sits under the tranny bolt area and it should hold itself in place , then where it extends past the frame , bend it slightly down (propane torch or heat gun) and shape that end like a funnel , so the oil will drain into a pan easily when the bike is on the kickstand (or leaning against a bike stand with the footpeg) , if you trim and bend everything right , you should be able to put it in place , then undo the bolt and remove it then replace it afterwards , without moving the tray or making a mess....

What you might want to try is to make a cardboard mock up of the tray , then try shaping/trimming it , before , you start cutting on the actual tray , this way you know what fits/works before trimming/bending something you can't change back

Sounds like a plan. I was thinking about getting some heavy duty aluminum foil and folding it thick until I could form something, but the plastic tray has potential. Its gonna happen here eventually... I wonder how long it'll take my wife to notice our corn tray is gone, lol....
