    Vapor Troubles...

    by Mtngoat00 » Tue Apr 26, 2016 4:18 am

Hello, I just installed a Vapor on my 2006 crf250x. I think I followed the instructions to a tee. The problem is that the speedo is reading inconsistently and seems to be way off. It jumps around from low to high readings not matter what speed I am at. I initially mounted the sensor exactly as shown in the diagrams then remounted it a cm lower thinking the magnetic rotor bolt was not aligned well. Still reads all over the place. Anyone have this problem and a solution???? BTW I have measured the wheel circumference a couple ways and it is correct. thanks Goat

If your positive on setting the wheel diameter , and you went thru all the settings and everything looks as it should (sensor placement on the Caliper Mount , and settings within the unit itself etc), then i would guess that the sensor is bad (it sometimes happens , i had the one on my Striker go bad within a week) , i would give Trail Tech a call , they have really good Customer Service , if the unit is new , they will most likely just send a replacement part , but they can also walk you thru setup over the phone to troubleshoot it
