Okay so after riding a few weeks back I washed my bike and tried to start it afterwords as I always do, but I noticed it was very difficult to kick over so I drained the oil and noticed the chunks of brass colored metal in my oil :/
So I understand it will be a full rebuild that is needed and I am prepared to tear into her myself I would just like some advice threw out the process and on the parts that will be needed.

I was thinking about buying a weisco top and bottom end kit Thoughts?

Can you guys also point me in the right direction as far as what valves to purchase?

Sucks to find that kind of issue. I take it you found a sizable amount of shavings?

I cannot comment on that kit, but regardless of the parts, you need to make sure you are up to the task as the bottom end is pretty involved.

You are going to need tools. Ones that many do not have until they take on engine projects include: Case splitter, quality torque wrench that measure inch pounds, flywheel puller, blind bearing puller (multiple size bearings), bearing and seal press (or comparable method), and micrometer.

You also need the OEM service (not owner) manual. Make sure it is the OEM manual!

The valves are not shade-tree mechanic serviceable. You can acquire the tools to take them out and replace them, but you are going to need to cut the seats and blend the valves. It is best to have a machine shop (such as CRFsOnly's shop) tell you what you need. I, and others, have found it more economical to just purchase a new (complete) head when it needs valves.

Personally, I'm a fan of the Hot Rods kit over the Wiseco/Pro X stuff:

This kit is put together by Hot Rods as a kit and is complete and thorough.

As for the valves, we have several options for CNC valve jobs and valve options as well as complete new heads with our CNC valve seat work:
