I love my vapor except the fact I have had to replace my wire harness twice now, first shot I thought I had my routing pretty nice, the second time I cased all the wires with a wire loom. still no luck, always get broken connections. I think the wiring is cheap and not durable at all. I think I may start a new thread on this topic, but I would like to know how you made out with yours.

So far so good with my vapor but I havnt got much ride time in since the install. I'm very curious to why you are breaking wires and how you routed them because there should be no stress on the wires.

Vapor and 2 Voyagers, only wire problem I had was when I accidentally melted a tach wire because I unwrapped it to do some other wiring.

It sounds like more of a mounting and routing problem. Best option is mount it so the plate covers all the wires, then tape the wires in with another existing wire loom. If one is not available, you can take a piece of 12 gauge wire and use it to stiffen up the taping of the thin wires. Make sure the turning of the bars does not put any strain on the wires.

see I mounted it to the existing odometer mount with a piece I machined out of alum. at work. its solid and doesn't bounce around at all. all the wiring was left with a good bit of slack in the controls end, and I routed everything as good as I thought with existing wiring. You guys are not having any troubles I feel ok about getting another set and going for round three. the bike is stripped no so I may find a better way to route. thanks guys

Any additional wires i install i use this stuff it will eliminate any rubbing of the wire , i have the Striker and have not had any issues except the speedo sensor which was replaced under Warranty

Have you used spiral wrap? I use it to keep the speedo cable together with the brake line, and in a few other key spots. Most every Home Depot stocks it in black, they have clear online. I like it better than the regular wire loom because you do not need tape or zip ties to hold it, and the wrap keeps things tight. Although, it would not work with a few thin wires.

you know what I have that spiral wrap at work, we use is on our air line for robots, actually we have it small enough for 1/16th" lines. that would be perfect. http://www.grainger.com/search?searchQuery=spiral+tubing+wrapthis stuff was expensive in bulk but im sure this is where my plant gets it from.

No i have not tried it , i have always used what i posted when i noticed that all cars use it under the hood where wires are exposed to elements ,heat and vibration and rubbing , so i figured if they thought it was best to use , then that is what i should use , been using it for years , i have looked at the Spiral Wrap before , but i didn't feel it covered the wires enough to my liking

yeah I see your reasoning for that. i suppose i can use both? all in all its worth another shot, ill just have to experiment with it a bit more.
