i ride a 04 crf 100 with a few small mods and i often race a guy on an 85 and he is not really as good as he thinks he is but most of the time i can beat him on our lake bottom track any idias on how to get a lil more odge on him becous every time we race he gets better he will beat me soon becous on the bike speeds not much of a straight away on the track and only a couple small jumps

here's my advice and i think people will agree with me, you need to be faster than him in the corners and very agressive.

corner speed is the biggest thing in racing. watch james stewart and how fast he is in the corners.

get a big bore kit and a bigger carb

As stated - practice corners and getting into them fast and out again ...

Fast as you can into the corner ... full brakes ( front and back ) then line up out of corner and full throttle to next corner

Try different lines through the corners ... dont be a sheep and follow everyone elses ruts and bumps

Try going wide then cut back across tops of ruts or go close in to apex and skirt ruts/bumps on the inside as most people tend to go wide coming out of corners and it gets chopped up more

Above all practice ... set up a little circuit of your own and just go around and around until you have it nailed ... then race him ..

i raced him like 5598758 times and he never beat me

i even beat him when he was on a yz 125 and i was on my hundred

now i have a 230 and just blow him away

Srry to burst ur bubble, but a 65 will blow a 100 out of the water in a race, 65s have balls!!! I rode one and i could easily compare it to a 230.

honestly, im not joking, surprized me (we are talking about a 65 2-stroke, right?) It isn't as fast, but it has about the same hit in power.
