    Protecto-gear brand/source recommendations?

I think gear sort of fits under technique... :?

Well, I'm sitting here with a purple bruise the size of a dinner plate on my thigh and wondering why I ever questioned the merits of getting more protective gear. I realized I have too many responsibilities to get injured, I can't afford the $ to get injured, and since I don't heal the way I did 20 years ago, I haven't the time to get injured!

So it's a false economy to put off getting some guards and chest protector stuff. I like the integrated shirt-type armor from 661 and RockGardn because they cover forearms. Anybody have experience with these? Or are the shell-like ones better cuz maybe they're cooler?

(By the way, Ev, I actually like those Fly pants from JensenUSA and the price is great.)

some of my more dual sporting or Sahara vacating friends did wear these protector jackets, because they are pretty convenient
    but
in the woods or on track with more physical workout and less cooling breeze they can be a pain
plus it is cheaper to replace only a pair of ellbow guards or a kidney belt when the elastic is worn ...
and I prefere throwing all those single pieces in the bathtub over dealing with one very unhandy plus more delecate; and the less foam material the faster it is dry and ready to use again
