    basic riding position - lever setup

    your levers, too!
    when you stand on your bike in a relaxed position,
    knees + hips slightly bent, ellbows up ...
    stretch out your fingers, resting them on your levers
    now your arms and hands should create a straight line,
    with no bend in the wrist
    the ball-ends of your levers are somewhat below your bars

    do not squeeze the mounts as tight as you can
    only tight enough you need to use force to move the levers up and down,
    so in case of a touchdown your levers can move,
    if they cann't they might break

    never, never cut the ball-ends of your levers!
    that might turn them into 'stab weapons'
    please believe me, even handlebar ends can go right thru flesh

    good point ev...i wonder if i'm the only one out there who runs their clutch lever lower then my front brake lever. i've analyzed it and have some theories as to why i do this but it always comes back to...it just feels right...well, except for all the comments about my levers be jacked up.

    only sometimes :wink:
    the clutch side tends to be more 'vivid' on all of my bikes and move up and down every now and then
    the brake side is more stable with the gas cables stabilizing

    you should be able to shift while in a standing position. also if you have to sit down, shift and stand back up, your levers need to be put down
