Propper engine break-in procedure

I just had the valves done and am in the process of replacing the piston with a JE on my 07 450r. I've heard and read a lot of different ways to do a break-in. Many of which I find questionable. What is the correct procedure I should follow? Anything I should look out for? How important is "heat cycling"? Thanks in advance.

The engine break-in should be done as follows:

start bike and warm up.

ride the piss out of it for 20 minutes, keeping the rpms above 3000, varying the throttle, staying away from the limiter, and building as much compression as possible by using the engine as a brake (downhill sections).

Let it cool 15 minutes.

Repeat riding.

Repeat cooling.

Repeat riding.

Repeat cooling.

Change fluids and oil filter.

If anyone wants to know why you break in an engine like the method above...high compression leads to perfect seating of the rings against the cylinder wall.
