It is outside the city of Polokwane, South Africa between some game farms.Cool . looks like a nice place to ride , looks to be a lot of side trails to go on .....Some of the areas I ride are kinda desert as well ...you can go for a long time and not see anyone else , and other times its like a dirt freeway in rush hour .... Where exactly is this ??? ...
There are some nice fast hard gravel sections but the surface changes quite a bit into some loose rocky bits, some ruts and some really deep sand in other places. It makes for an interesting ride. And it looks smoother than some bitumen I have driven on!
Yes, there are game fences everywhere so the only real thread are warthogsWell hopefully it is fenced off from any game areas , I sure would hate to be tooling down a road or trail and have a animal decide I should not be there ...
Yep you have warthogs we get kangaroos.Yes, there are game fences everywhere so the only real thread are warthogsWell hopefully it is fenced off from any game areas , I sure would hate to be tooling down a road or trail and have a animal decide I should not be there ...
They feed in the tall grass next to roads and are known to run in front of motorcycles on gravel as well as tar roads
We do have a lot of meerkats but unlike in the movies, they do not hang out with the warthogsYep you have warthogs we get kangaroos.
Are there meerkats with the warthogs, lol.
The mileage will definitely increase almost daily as I have a number of interesting roads all within a radius of 100km from my home especially now that I have a licensed dual sport bike which allows me to legally ride on the connecting tar roads to get from one gravel road to the next.Where I am at , we don't get many critters in the desert running out in front of you , maybe a wild horse once in a great while , everything else scatters at the first sign of people , but in the mountains I have almost hit black bear several times ... usually with cubs ... those are the one's you want to stay clear of ...
It looks like you have a lot of places to explore .... , so I am sure you are going to be racking up the miles/km on that bike in no time at all ....
I normally ride alone which helps with not riding in someone else's dust all the timeThe only trouble with dust is the aircleaner maintenance to keep it out of your engine. Ohh and eating it!
